Found one geode in my life, pretty big. Met a couple while I was there. He told me he had a rock saw and would help me open it right. Offered me ten bucks for it and seemed upset that I wanted to keep it. It was perfect and purple. Then I thanked him and he said I owed him 20 bucks. Not a nice person.

If not quartz(before watching the whole video) from the first looks, my guess would be calcite, or maybe selenite(gypsum).

Chalcedony is way harder then flint & is unknappable, yet if you do find a worked scrapper, or hand knife, they are older then all Clovis, or chert tools.

This is fake...its a light up rock...u can see it light up without the light hitting it... which would suggest its just a fake rock with a button and a light inside it

About three years ago, we visited Oatman and then headed to Kingman. On the way through we stopped at the Water Spring store and Jack happened to be set up outside with his rocks and treasures. We talked for a bit, and I asked to have my photo taken with him, as he had shooters on both hips, a big knife, rocks hanging around his neck and was a great story teller. He showed me some of his gorgeous pieces and shared some of his knowledge with us as well. Right at the end, he picked up a specimen and handed it to me and said, ‘here, this is for you’. One of the hilites of my trip was meeting this kind quirky miner that was generous enough to spend time with a complete stranger instilling more love for nature and how it can provide such beautiful minerals from it. ❤ Thank you Jack!

If you use acid, try 2 5 gallon buckets, one for rinsing the other fill with gallons of water distilled, and 200 mils of acid, use a metal or chemical resistant plastic strainer.
